Your energy is impressive. When faced with a similar problem (actually
a cracked head spraying antifreeze on the distributor) I resorted to
driving the car with a shoe box over the distributor for a couple of
years.
It did raise some eyebrows at car shows, but kept the daily driver car
on the road at no cost.
You do what you have to do to keep em running.
