By all means purchase an original-style jack if you want to have your
car complete with all it's original kit. Just don't ever use it if you
want to jack the car up. It is a very poor design that puts a huge
amount of stress into the sill, and if there is any weakness in the sill
it will give way (it has happened to me!!).
Keep that aftermarket jack in the boot for when you actually need to
jack your car.
Over-riders should be vertical, I don't know (but doubt) there's any
adjustment for these, more likely something got bent I'd guess.
