Greetings Jim and all,

My headlights were doing the very bright at running rpm and very dim at idle 
just before the alternator failed. I could also observe the regulator doing 
its job poorly while running at steady highway speeds.

Of course, checking grounds and the security of the connections is also a 
good first step.

On the one bright and one less bright light, are they the same wattage, is 
the dimmer light significantly older than the brighter one?
