Well, neither of us is an expert on thermodynamics, so it
seems like we're both quoting "received wisdom" as we've
encountered it in the past. I'll just close by saying that
the assertion that an air pump is well known to rob
horsepower goes against everything I've heard from
"informed sources" for the last 30 years. As a person who
is contrarian by nature, I'm inclined to support the
air pump because, as a contrarian by nature, it seems to
defy all conventional wisdom concerning early pollution
equipment.
