What wobbles? The steering wheel? The gear lever? Or the whole car? That
much free rotation (1/12th of a turn???) indicates a huge amount of weak in
the thrust washers and what bears upon them, so much so that even with new
thrust washers you may still have a lot of slop (can you fit more than one
or thicker ones?) Even so that usually only causes clonks on accelerating
and decelerating and not wobbles. My gear lever started moving up and down
when one of the UJs was breaking up and had seized. Steering wheel wobbles
is usually front wheel balance, but usually only when you have got up to
about 60. Other bouncing around can be caused by out of round tyres if they
haven't been turned regularly.
