There's nothing wrong with using a 1900 thermostat. I use one in my B, and
it keeps the temperature pretty much dead center in the gauge, which I
assume is where it belongs, or they would have calibrated the gauge
differently. It is highly unlikely that the thermostat has anything to do
with your problem. It seems to me the fans aren't kicking in soon enough,
but I've never owned a vehicle with electric fans, so I can't really say.
