Correct, this is the ballasted feed from the ignion relay/fusebox and the
bypass from the solenoid when cranking.

Correct, one goes to the distributor and the other the tach.

Correct, this was a separate ballasted feed for the 45DE4 electronics.

The white and white/blue are the other ends of 2) above. The white is a
full 12v supply to the 45DE4 electronics plus the additional ballast, and
the white/blue the ballasted feed into the electronics. None of these are
required if replacing the 45DE4 with points and they should be carefully
insulated and taped back.

No brown/blue or brown/purple in my diagrams, or the other way round. Does
it carry any voltage at any time i.e. try switching everything on and off
with a voltmeter connected.

Correct.

Yes. It also joins the two browns together i.e. effectively doubles the
current carrying capacity and reduces volt-drop.

A noise suppression capacitor, the voltage stabiliser is electromechanical
and opens and closes a contact about once per second, which can cause radio
interference. It is also common to see them on the coil +ve and the
alternator browns.
