I found the culprit.  The battery was fine, I was getting spark, and the
timing was good.  It turned out to be the auto choke on the ZS.  I
disconnected it and the car started right up.  So I need to take it apart
and readjust the carb to spec and go from there.  The kicker was that the
problem came to the front when I was showing the car to prospective buyers.
