The correct color for a late model MGB engine block and head may be
achieved by painting the block with a dull brick red primer. Then hold
a can of black spray paint about 3 feet away and briefly wave it at the
block whilst holding down the activator slightly.
This mimics the original paint which looks like it was put on by half
blind apprentices who spent more time sniffing the paint than applying
it.
