In that case it is something I have never heard of before, with the possible
exception that the dipstick is incorrect, you are overfilling it, and the
excess is being 'consumed' rapidly. Now you can tell me you know how much
oil an MGB takes ;o)

I know how to check the oil level!
The level did not drop that fast that I did not re-check multiple
times to see it dropping to about half way quite quickly.
