accelerator cable

I recently replaced my accelerator cable in my 71 MGB which has HIF4 carbs.

The problems is from dead stop or at low speeds where I want to accelerate
slowly, my accelerator sticks and I get that knee jerk reaction.

Any help will be appreciated.
