Were cloth-faced ever available for the Midget? They were for the MGB but
the GT only, so possibly not. I opted for cloth-faced when restoring my
roadster for the comfort benefits over vinyl and the cost benefits over
leather, the latter particularly as it was my first attempt at recovering.
However it's pretty straight-forward, especially with Porter's instructions
(MGB anyway, can't see the Midget would be hugely different). However none
of the three sets of instructions I read before I started mentioned that the
seat covers for the MGB are handed, and needless to say I didn't notice
until the first one was glued on. I left it as I didn't want to risk
destroying the new cover or foams, and if truth be told it doesn't really
notice unless you really look, but I would have preferred to have got them
the right way round.
