Dave:
Early Tach and Speedos are getting hard to find. I absolutely recommend
that these types of gauges be professionally restored. The specialists
will just do a much better job on these instruments than a home mechanic
can. When you get the instruments back they will be like new, and will
work correctly for many years to come.
The three companies that I have personal knowledge of are:
West Coast: West Valley Instruments, Los Angeles CA
West: MoMar, Albuquerque NM
East: Nisonger Instruments NJ
Palo Alto Speedo also has an excellent reputation, but I have not
personally used them.
Each of them will do an excellent job, and pricing will be commensurate
with quality.
