Maybe, but the cut-off switch acts as an extra immobiliser *and* a safety
switch in the event of a major electrical problem. Monte was extremely
fortunate to already have his tools out and the cover off when this problem
developed. A friend had a similar problem while he was driving and it was
only the cut-off switch that someone else insisted on fitting as part of an
upgrade to V8 that saved the car.
