Sounds like the fluid is leaking; first you need to find out where
it's leaking. I would guess it's the slave cylinder, but that's not
necessarily the case. Look under the car and see where it's leaking
fluid. It might be the slave cylinder; it might be a worn or broken
line or flex hose. Even master cylinders can leak.
The fact that you can get it back working by adding fluid, but you
don't have to bleed it to make it work, suggests that it's the slave
cylinder inner seals, since that's a unique case that will sort-of
bleed it just by pumping to make the fluid replace the air.
I would guess it's leaking like crazy.
