Paul: Wow, you are good! And correct about my misidentifying the serial
number on my dizzy. The number is 41693A  45DE4. It did come off a 1979 MGb.
My 1980 MGB LE has the dizzy with the external amplifier and I have not had
any problems at all with it. Since it is so easy to rebuild the external
amplifier it is a much more practical application than the dizzy it
replaced. I hope this helps and am sorry about that.
