Hello Gang,
Friday again! :-]
This weekend is supposed to be rainy in Tulsa so
I can get a little garage time. I have been
slowly freshening up my '76 Midget. I have
rebuilt the carb (Weber DGV) and the ignition.
I now will go through with a few tests and a full
tune-up. So in the queue:
+ Repaint exhaust header and exhaust down-pipe.
+ Repaint head.
+ Reinstall intake manifold with new hardware.
+ Perform [cold engine] compression check.
+ Adjust valves.
+ Drain fuel tank, pump and lines. Replace filter.
+ Prime fuel system with fresh fuel.
+ Reinstall carb, linkage, aircleaner.
+ Replumb vacuum advance with new vacuum hose.
+ Start engine and bring to operating temperature.
+ Adjust timing (ignition already rebuilt).
+ Adjust carb idle mixture and idle speed.
+ Test drive is rain allows.
Sounds like a pretty fun Saturday morning!
Best,
rick / tusla
