Last but not least, you could switch to a
colder thermostat (165 degrees, Moss 434-180).

Donny, if the cooling system is truly overheating, the temperature is
already a darn sight higher than 180 degrees and the (properly functioning)
180 thermostat is open.  Switching to a 165 degree thermostat will do
nothing as it is going to be sitting there wide open and doing it's job just
like the 180 was.
