This is frequently mentioned by owners of MGBs in North America, but it
doesn't happen on either of mine and I have never noticed it on any of the
other British cars I have had.  Some say it is the drag of the clutch
release bearing, some say it is worn crankshaft thrust washers.  This last
might be seen if you watch the crank pulley of a running engine while
someone pushes and releases the clutch pedal.  Suddenly starting after an
oil change is odd.  Did the normal idle revs (clutch pedal released) alter
before and after the change as well?  Does the rev drop occur gradually as
the pedal is pushed down further, or all of a sudden near the end?
