... and is likely caused by a stiff wheelbox or rack... Lew Palmer Clicking sounds like the worm and gear are jumping out of mesh. The worm drive from the motor has a screw in the end with a set of shims to set the free play. If this screw has come lose it will allow the worm to move laterally i.e. out of mesh with the gear.
