I will be installing this cam into a MGB engine with a +.020 overbore and a
ported cylinder head with 1.625 inlet valves, peco exhaust, K&N filters and
HIF carbs (but I have a Weber 45 DCOE and cannon manifold sitting on a shelf
in my garage)

The cam that I have and am replacing is the Crane cam sold by Moss in the
US. The Crane cam worked well, but I found myself wanting more power at top
end.
The one thing you don't note is compression ratio. To make a cam really
work, you need compression!
The Kent 715 has a little more duration and a fair whack more overlap than
the Crane, so it will tend to give you what you are looking for - a bit better
top end power. If you are running stock compression, don't expect miracles.
You would notice a definite difference if you had about 10:1, which is all I'd
advise for running on pump premium.
Leave the Weber on the shelf and stick with the SUs - you may be at the
point where HIF6 makes sense, especially if you run in the upper RPM range.
This may seem odd, but if you are doing road rather than drag work, a close
ratio gearbox might be an idea - you will get much better acceleration once
you are off the line.
