My resignation can be reported, with the reason that "we were not able to
establish an effective working relationship or agree on the editorial direction
of the magazine." I am still an active participant in the British car hobby
(racing my rebuilt MGA--see attached-- touring with my Healey, and showing and
driving my Jaguar Mk2) and am currently starting two book projects, one on
restoring big Healeys and another on upgrading and racing techniques for one of
the
contemporary marques. I also expect that I will freelance for various
magazines, though I've agreed not to work for any other classic car magazine on
a
regular basis until the end of January 2005. At that time, we'll see, but there
are several good classic magazines that I would enjoy contributing to as a
staff editor.
So folks thats it!! Gary Anderson is no longer the Editor of Classic
Motorsports. After finishing his obligitory stay to help get the magazine up
and
running (Issue # 108/May 2004 on the MGB was also his last one!) He decided to
collect some "Gold" on the race tracks. I for one will miss his wonderful view
and
the ability to translate it so that the average "Joe's" like me were able to
view British motoring through his great writing and spotless editing. Please
get your MGA up and running ASAP and I hope your leg is feeling better. Hurry
Back!
