LOL - I'd have said the equivalent of a pair of fuzzy dice dangling from the
mirror.
I was trying to explain just yesterday to someone with stars in his eyes,
obviously much taken with the bragging rights that some mods apparently
deliver,
that installing a set of Webers on his TR-3 would not be the brightest of
ideas. He didn't want to raise the compression, change the cam, do any flow
work
on the head, he just wanted those nasty, racy carbs hanging off the lump in his
Triumph for all to admire. I finally had my fill of him and told him to
fungoo - that I wouldn't sell my carbs to him at any price. BTW - what should
a
set of 45 DCOE and Triumph manifolds bring in used condition?
OTOH, there are some signs of intelligent life out there. One guy I know
admitted as to how the gas mileage on his XKE had gone to shzzt after he
changed
over to triple 2" SUs, and that as he was able to actually use the added top
end performance maybe twice a year, but had to pay for it with every fill-up,
maybe the conversion hadn't been that bright an idea.
Hmm - maybe I should figure out how to replace my Webers on the Lambo with
some of those super-power downdraft DGV kits you can get for MGB's.....then
again, maybe not.
