I just don't trust the rubber - actually neoprene - gaskets. I've
never had any luck with them. I prefer cork; I think you can get either
cork or neo from Moss, et al.
I don't think the tappet cover gaskets were ever intended to
withstand much pressure. If you lightly press your hand over the tappet
cover breather pipe and there's enough pressure to displace your hand,
there's another problem causing the pressure, methinks.
