Fuel not getting past carbs

Hi Listers: Well, as I continue my restoration of my 74B I once again need 
your help.

I have fuel pumping quite well to the carbs, but the engine will only "fire" 
if I pour a little gas into the carbs.It will not fire unless I add this fuel 
in this manner.

Where should I start looking.

The choke and accel. cables are working well, I "tapped" on the float area, 
but still no fuel from the carbs into the cylinder chambers.

Any help is appreciated.
