Swap the plugs round to eliminate that, then do a compression test. A
simple bung held in the hole should be sufficient to tell if you have a
valve stuck open or very badly burned if you don't have a gauge. It's
possible that the one cylinder position is breaking down on the distributor
cap under compression but not in free air. If this is the case a timing
light should tell you that by *not* flashing on 2 whereas it does in all the
others - all plugs in and connected.
