  Hi Dave,

    Glad you're on you pins again. (G)   It sounds to me like you lost 
the 12 volts to the instruments.  Reason: tach stops working but engine 
keeps running means the 12 volt power to the tach went away.  The temp 
and tank gauges are slower-acting, thermal-wire gauges that take a while 
to change readings.

   Betcha there's a blown fuse or an open connection to the instrument 
power.
