1) Absolutely. Make sure all the wires are reconnected to the tach. This
feeds the distributor and the car won't run without a complete connection.
You can check by seeing if you have 12v at the distributor and coil with the
ignition on. Also check that the plugs under the steering column which go to
the ignition switch are well connected.
2) It wouldn't hurt.

Questions:
1. Does having the dash off and all instruments disconnected (I pulled all
the wires, not knowing I should just unplug the large plastic connectors
:-() somehow affect the starting/running of the car? After stripping it, I
did reconnect the ground wire in the trunk, and I did have fuel pumping to
the carbs. Seems I've read that disconnecting the tach can cause
starting/running problems.
2. After having set so long, should I squirt some oil in the cylinders
before turning it over? Anything else?
