On the subject of the press and how they view British sports cars, you should
read the TR8 review in Road&Track magazine when the cars were first released.
They loved the car! And this was in spite of a problem that couldn't be
resolved in which the battery was being overcharged and boiling over
throughout their testing. Maybe it was the contrast of the TR8 with the cars
of that era; the TR8 was a hell of a lot better driving car than a 1980
Corvette.
