James:
Someone has been mucking about and hooked up the purple wire to the wrong
switch.
I'll lay a bet that your brake warning light test switch doesn't work
because it doesn't have a purple wire connected to it.
Headlight switch has:
Brown: Unfused Power Feed
Red: 2 or even 3 running light leads (you get the extra connection, just in
case you wanted to have fog lights)
Blue: Head Lamp supply
The Brake Warning Light Test Switch has:
Purple: Fused Feed to lamp
Black/White: 2 leads to Pressure Differential Switch
Black: Ground for Test Switch Function
The Brake Warning Light Test Switch is located just above the Headlight
Switch, so chances are something came loose and got reconnected incorrectly.
