Monte,
It sounds like a 67 model to me. I don't pay much attention to the ignition
light since its only on just before the car starts and I haven't done much
night time driving in a while. So I had the lights reversed, in my mind,
anyway. The point being that the ignition and high beam lights are embedded
in the gauges in the 67 and older models. In 68 and after, along with the
plastic Abingdon pillow dashes, the lights were on the dash, not the
gauges. And the diameter of the gauges are smaller, at least until 1974 or so.
My 67BGT has a 1020 gauge (SN 6144/02). But I also have an o/d transmission
and I think that all of these parts are original with the car.
I checked on my spare post- 68 speedometer and the odometer reset
cable/knob is attached to the speedometer body. The odometer has a small
metal square piece that inserts into the reset cable as you insert the
speedometer into the case. I would suspect the 67 and earlier speedos were
the same way. So you may just need the case off a non-working speedometer
so long as that square metal rod from the odometer is intact.
