Moaning with Clutch Pain

Two weeks ago when I installed the new disc & pressure plate, I put a dab of
high temp grease inside the pilot bushing & spread a little along the input
shaft gear of the trans.  Now, when I fully depress the clutch, something
"moans" like a dry ball-type bearing.

Any idea what it could be?
