Hi List: I may have misled and sent a dumb question to this list.
It appears that the "bearing assembly with O ring" is in fact the pinion oil 
seal. It is hard to see what the replacement looks like, and at under $5.00 
does not seem right either.
Anyway, I will order one and see if it matches the crumbly one from my 
steering column.
