You know, up until the 19th century, when humans began pumping oil
out of the ground as a replacement for whale oil in lanterns, there
were many places in the world where crude oil bubbled to the surface
naturally. Now, those places are mostly gone. So, it seems like it's
the environmentally-correct thing to do to *encourage* cars to leak
oil, to replace the naturally-accreting surface oil flows that
humans have eliminated.
