I really hope to have time to write about my weekend real soon. The
upside of stripping out the splines on my RR hub is that I found out
about Economy foreign car parts in Chico CA (about 45 minutes from
Thunderhill racetrack). The owner and employees are all British car
fans. They had a Smiths dual guage for sale, one that would work in a
Spridget or a 'B', I think it was $140. If what you have is especially
rare/valuable/cool they might be willing to trade. It wouldn't cost
much to call them and ask.

I've found something worse than oldies station that play the music I used to
listen to. Oldies stations that play the "new" music I used to complain about.
