How's the driving position?
It would seem to me that the original seats in a Midget would have a lower
cushion and a thinner back than about anything else you could replace them
with.
And since the limiting factors in Midget ownership are leg room (the seat
doesn't go back very far as it is) and thigh/knee clearance (when the seat
is back you have to spread your knees either side of the wheel), I could see
a seat replacement squeezing one right out of the cockpit.
Apparently this didn't happen to you, though.
