Monte, No shimming necessary. AN inexpensive filter solution is to go to Checker, Auto Zone, etc. and obtain the triangular Edelbrock filter with the washable element. Buy the one with the small hole. Cover that hole and cut holes for the SU's. This was the only solution I could find to accommodate HS6's and power brakes in my '67.
