Actually, I'm not convinced there is any difference in the frame shape or
size between early and late seats. The tunnel widens in front of the seat on
later cars. I need someone who has both to verify this. The late foams are
thicker and shaped differently, but I'm hoping that a set of early foams on
the late frames will work with the early style upholstery.
I'll post my findings when I find out for sure.

The seat frames would have changed in 67 with the wider tunnel for the
4-synchro gearbox, these have seat foams and covers with a corresponding
taper. If you have the reclining seat backs they should have the tapered
seats. The foam sculpturing also changed at some time adding to the
permutations. After-market leather covers are available for the later
frames as well as the earlier. Current foams seem to be much denser than
the originals and give a higher 'ride height', you might want to cut an inch
or so off the bottom to stop thighs fouling wheel and head the roof if a GT.
