All of the Virus' from the last year or more that have gotten into our
business has been via web mail access
to external mail accounts.

Most web blockers the admin enters the domain name (FQDN) into the
product and it blocks it in all it's
ip addresses. I don't know if this would work but, if you set your
browser to a proxy server that is outside
of your firewall (assuming you don't have a proxy server inside) that
might do it. I haven't tried it, but it's
possible. In fact, I probably should try it, since I have parental
control running here at home. Not that it's
anything to worry about yet. I wonder if I have proxy setup on my web
server?

Is the only way to connect to your ISP via web mail. Can you telnet or
(better) ssh to it and run a command
line mail program (mutt, elm, etc)? 95% of this lists mail would go
through those programs just fine. And
100% if the system also has lynx (for those people that think sending
mail in html is cool).

Paul.
