If you live in cold rural country, yes!  I've seen live
"cats" travel for 60 miles in one.  I've also seen and heard
thumps, fuzz, guts, broken belts, hoses and radiators.

It's not as common as it used to be due to the compactness
of most car engine compartments.  But it still happens with
pickups.
