Don:

I have heard of a case of a Heritage shell rusting, I believe from
Kai. Since dipping the body shell in primer would require a large dip tank
I am guessing that this process is beyond the production facilities of
Heritage.

All the articles I've seen in the UK recomend using Waxoyl
injection, which does offer superior protection if done correctly.

The heritage shells are still in production. There are only two US
Federal spec models made. Chrome bumper 68-74 style and Rubber bumper 75-80
style. Demand in the US has been too low to allow development of other
styles such as the V8, although who knows what they might knock together in
the dark of night.

        ****Marketing Content Warning***

Moss can order the shells. They are expensive, prone to shipping damage and
ship truck freight (read $$$$$). Moss doesn't make any money on them*, so
there is no marketing effort to promote them in the US market.

*after dealing with numerous technical calls, complaints of shipping damage,
and one case where a shell was heavily damaged and no-one owned up to doing
it.

On the whole it is cheaper in the US to find a relatively rust free shell
from one of the sunbelt states and have it shipped to your door. That said,
I still think it is great that we can get shells and wish BMH the best with
the project.
