I may be mistaken, but I believe it's still allowed on trucks over a certain
gvw (the big rigs), to help when maneuvering in tight spots and turning
lock-to-lock. It then needs to "flip-down" out of the way so that it does
not interfere with normal turning at speed.
But one thing is for sure, if mr. trooper sees one on your car, your screwed
in all 50 states....
