Hmmm,
Just like most others, first thought would be an exotic, but then where
to take advantage of it? Better to make what I have better for starters.
Fix those nagging little things, and maybe some minor improvements. I
wouldn't want to really convert it into something else. For that....
I'd get a coupe! another 1500, so the light's would match. Then put in a
3-main 1800 that's been gone over by a street pro shop, or one of those
MGOC 2 liter 1800s, along with a Sierra 5 speed, B rear end and tube
shock conversion, Minilites, etc. Just turn it into a real highway
machine. And all that extra power? Well it would drive an air
conditioner, of course. Seeing those dripping wet people climb out of
their coupes at GT-27 in 95/95 degree/percent Charlottesville (as opposed
to us dripping wet after the two day rain..) would sure cause me to want
some auxillary cooling.
For those more than 2 pepole days? How about an old Jag saloon, or, more
appropriate for me, a Morris sedan.
Although that Zagato AM on the cover of last week's AutoWeek was
sweeeeeeet! And only $134k.
