Are we sure about the "old" values?
I checked my circa 1974 Prestone hydrometer and found this: "(-34F)
50% concentration recommended (-37C)" written beside the calibrations.
A gallon of Zerex bought last winter says 70/30 for -84F, 60/40 for
-62, and 50/50 for -34.
Is it true that ethylene glycol raises the boiling temp and lowers the
freezing temp, but decreases the rate of heat transfer from iron to
coolant to radiator?
