Okay, so I replaced the fuel pump with a new Facet electronic pump (all
the local dealer had). I'm now getting fuel to the float bowls, but the
pump doesn't seem to shut off when the system is up to pressure. Is
that normal for this kind of pump? It doesn't seem to be pumping excess
gas anywhere (no leaks; float bowls aren't overflowing), but it still
keeps clicking, even when the float bowls are full.
Also, another glitch -- maybe related, maybe not -- she won't turn over
now. The battery is good, and it did turn over when the old fuel pump
was in (just wasn't getting fuel). Now that it's getting fuel, it won't
turn over. This couldn't be related to the new fuel pump, could it?
This is a '72 Midget we're talking about, by the way, but this car has
the Crane XR700 electronic ignition in it. It had it when I bought it,
so I have no idea how to trouble-shoot it or even how it's installed, so
I don't know if it's the problem or not.
Anybody got any ideas?

Just because you have solved ONE problem, doesn't mean you have solved
the ONLY problem.
