Hi
I am a South African newbie to the list and only picked my 68MGB Roadster up
on Saturday.
Very excited to get going as I am sure you can imagine.
I was lucky enough to drive this car about 5 years ago after it had been
standing for about 12 years. We did some work on it and it ran fine. All we
had to do was charge her up, clean of all the dust and we were away. For
safety we had a service done on the car and the break pads replaced.
Unfortunately, I did not own the car then and after some heavy smoking from
the drivers side rear, the car was put back into storage.
Anyway, the car is now mine, and will be fully restored, but modernised a
little as I want to use the car as my everyday car in the long run.
I have been going over the list archives to find out info on converting from
the duel 6 volt batts to a single 12 volt.
I don't want to sound stupid but would rather ask a few questions before I
blow my new baby and myself up.
The car is obviously 12 volts as the batts are in series.
So I assume I can just pop a 12 volt in, re-wire and that should work, or am
I hoping to much??
Then onto the breaks. The master cylinder is looking very sad. How do you
tackle this issue, replace with a more modern system or refurbish.
Thanks,
Ross
