Our cars may not be too popular in the eyes of some law enforcement
officials. This Saturday our club the North Bay British Car Club
(www.nobbc.com) had a ride from Santa Rosa to Lake Berryessa in Napa
County, Ca. It was a great day and a great ride until we took a lunch
break at a picnic table at a Bureau of Reclamation boat launch site. A
Napa sheriff deputy rolled in and in a stunning display of abuse of
power wrote us all $65 citations for lacking front license plates. I
don't *even* have a place to mount a plate. First time in years I felt
like calling a cop a pig! To make it even worse, he didn't recognize the
brand name or models of our cars. I was waiting for him to ask me how to
spell MG.
