The transmission dipstick and filler hole is on the right side of the
tunnel, under the carpet, just behind the heater box. Peel back the
carpet and you will find a rubber plug. Remove that and reach down with
fingertips and locate the loop of the dipstick. Pull straight up.
Sometimes it is easy. Sometimes you may need long-nose pliars to get it.
Transmission oil for MGBs is engine oil. You can use straight 30 or
20/50.
Third fuse down from the top is hot when ignition is on. That is a
good place to hook up timing light, except that most Tlights have clips
that are too large to fit on the fuse terminal. Exchange the large clip
for a small clip.
