Some connections are incorrect at the ignition switch and probably
others. When the key is in the start position, the only normal
electrical loads are the ignition system and the starter motor
solenoid. So, the wipers are now wired into the start position instead
of the run position.
Turn the lights and other accessories on and then turn the ignition
switch to start. If the lights, etc. come on, then the leads at the
ignition switch are reversed.
