Well, a very full - and fun - Sunday to wrap up British car Week. The Red
Mill show in Clinton, NJ, was a great day. Wonderful ride out - about 45
miles, a little shower but I was moving so I didn't get wet - then it
cleared up and was gorgeous - as it always is for this show! Saw Rick
Brown, and met Rita and Dave Houser (beautiful '67 BGT Special) and
(finally!) Bill Saidel. I was parked next to a neat '67 Humber Super Snipe
that the owner has had since 1968. Now I know where Checker got their
styling from...! Or is it the other way around? A really cool car. Also a
couple of '30's (I think) Bentleys the were really cool. And somehow a
VW-based "MGTD" snuck in...! Unfortunately, no AC Ace or MG Z Magnette
this year :-( Seemed like a lot of Minis and Healeys, which reminds me
that I forgot to get a picture of the really nice green bugeye Sprite that
came in late... The '76 B ran great both up and back. Saw a couple of
Cobra replicas on the drive home - wonder if they had a show today, too?
And I actually saw a white TVR heading south on Route 130 in Cranbury on
the way home from fishing with our Webelos Den this evening - my only
British Car sighting (outside of the show and the usual Jaguars) for the
entire week!
Happy Monday, all...
